Leaving Abraham’s House is an important milestone, but it doesn’t mean facing life’s challenges alone. Our vision is to provide continued mentorship, encouragement, and access to resources as former residents living independently. From maintaining employment and managing finances to navigating housing and personal responsibilities, we aim to remain a source of guidance and support as our young adults build their futures.
What help do I get as I get ready to move out?
Preparing to leave Abraham’s House is about finding the right next step for each resident. Our goal is to offer two pathways based on individual readiness, personal goals, and the level of support needed. Residents may transition into a more structured, self-managed shared housing environment where they can practice greater independence while maintaining some guidance and accountability. Others may be ready to move directly into independent housing of their own. Through personalized transition planning, we aim to help every resident develop the skills, resources, and confidence needed to succeed in their next chapter.

What Is Shared Transitional Housing?
Shared Transitional Housing provides a structured next step for residents who are ready for greater independence but still benefit from regular guidance and accountability. Unlike the initial residential home, these shared houses will not have 24-hour staffing. Abraham’s House staff will oversee household operations, coordinate monthly expenses, collect rent and utility payments, and conduct regular check-ins. Residents will manage their daily routines and responsibilities while continuing to receive support as they prepare for fully independent living.
What Is Independent Living Housing?
Idependent Living Housing is designed for young adults who are ready to manage life on their own while sharing a home with others. Residents will be responsible for paying their own rent and utilities, managing household expenses, maintaining their living spaces, and handling everyday responsibilities without staff oversight. This option provides the freedom and responsibility of independent adulthood, while allowing former residents to maintain connections with Abraham’s House through optional ongoing mentorship and support.
