Entrepreneurial Training & Support

Building on a foundation of employment and independence, our Advancement Program aims to help young adults turn entrepreneurial ambitions into opportunities.

Every great business begins with an idea, but turning that idea into a successful venture takes preparation, experience, and a strong foundation. Through our planned Advancement Program, Abraham’s House aims to support former residents who have established greater independence and are ready to explore entrepreneurship as their next step. By introducing business planning, financial management, marketing, and practical business experience, we hope to equip aspiring entrepreneurs with the knowledge and resources to turn their ideas into viable businesses.

Who is entrepreneurship training for?

Entrepreneurship training is intended for former residents of Abraham’s House who have transitioned into independent living and are ready to explore business ownership. Through our planned Advancement Program, we aim to support young adults who have developed a foundation of employment, financial responsibility, and life skills and are ready to take the next step toward their entrepreneurial goals.

What do you actually get from the training?

Participants will have opportunities to learn the fundamentals of starting and managing a business, including business planning, budgeting, marketing, customer service, and daily operations. Our goal is to combine practical education, mentorship, and hands-on experience to help aspiring entrepreneurs evaluate their ideas, understand the responsibilities of business ownership, and prepare to build sustainable businesses.

  • Business Planning & Development: Turning business ideas into realistic plans with clear goals and strategies.
  • Financial Management & Operations: Understanding startup costs, pricing, budgeting, and the daily responsibilities of running a business.
  • Marketing & Customer Relations: Learning how to attract customers, promote products or services, and build lasting business relationships.

How does it fit with the rest of the program?

Entrepreneurship builds on the employment experience, financial responsibility, and life skills residents develop during their time at Abraham’s House. As part of our planned Advancement Program, former residents who are ready to explore business ownership can receive additional guidance and support as they work toward turning their entrepreneurial interests into opportunities.
